Brand new website - or a makeover to your existing one?

However much, or however little you need, I can help.

Having spent the last 10 years involved in web development, I have been involved in many different projects, with many different requirements, from simple informational websites, to complex arrangements including ecommerce functionality, or sites highly optimised to come up first in the search engine results.

One of the most important stages of your website development happens long before the computer gets switched on - and that is working out what you want from your website, and what your website will need from you.

As with any service providers, choosing the right one can seem like somewhat of a lottery - and before you know it, you have already spent too much time and money, only to find that they really don't quite get your concept after all. You are then either stuck with something you are not happy with, or face the prospect of starting all over again. Why take that risk?

Needs assessment

Whether you have an existing website, or are considering one for the first time, it can be a difficult task to work out unaided, what you want to get from your website, and in turn what that might require from you in terms of time, and updating information.

This is why I believe that an initial discussion, and then preferably a face to face meeting to discuss all those idea's that have been going through your head, and to possibly introduce some that you haven't considered, should be our starting point.

If you decide you don't like my idea's, or me (and feeling comfortable and able to talk frankly to your web designer is important), or if I should feel that you are asking me for the moon on a stick - which sorry, I just can't provide - then we can go our different ways, wiser from the experience, but no poorer!

If you have had experience dealing with 'web designers' before, you may have found that the services provided can be somewhat restricted - initially providing you with a website they have created, but then tieing you to them as they are the only ones that can do even the most minor of updates. That's not my philosophy.

If you need some help to get started, but would then rather maintain the site yourself, then I will make sure that your site is created in such a way to make this easy for you.

If you would rather spend your time running your business, than messing about on the computer updating your site, then I will be happy to work out a maintenace program with you that suits your requirements - whether you need daily, or yearly updates - I will only charge you for the work you want me to do. There is are no monthly subscription costs.

Based on the Herts/Beds border - I prefer to work 'locally' so that I can meet up with you so we can discuss your requirements. If however you are further afield then face to face meetings will be fewer, but you can be sure you can contact me either on the phone or by email whenever you need to.
